Hunter, a Gary, Indiana native, excelled at Gary West Side High School, leading his team to its first Class 4A state championship in 2002. He was named the AP's Class 4A MVP and the Times of Northwest Indiana Player of the Year. After participating in training camps with the New York Knicks in 2009, he played for the Golden State Warriors in the 2009-10 season, highlighted by a 22-point game against the Los Angeles Lakers. With a decade of coaching experience at the University of Michigan under John Beilein and Juwan Howard, Hunter contributed to multiple Big Ten titles and NCAA Tournament successes, including a Final Four run in 2018. His coaching philosophy focuses on building athletes' skill sets from the ground up, ensuring all skills are applicable to real game situations.
